RUNÖ is the only contemporary concert project dedicated specifically to the Ruhnu fiddle repertoire. Based on archival sources and field research, the project transforms historical material into a direct and powerful performance language for two fiddles, voices and storytelling. At a time when small island traditions are disappearing across Europe, this project gives one of the region’s most unique fiddle repertoires a strong contemporary presence on international stages.
